Lithology and Thickness

It is composed of bright green, reddish at the tops, poorly sorted sandstones and siltstones with interlayers and lenses of heterogeneous conglomerates, reminiscent in appearance of the conglomerates of the Djambulak Fm. Cobbles (0.5-30 cm in diameter) are well-rounded, isometric, dumped, unsorted, entirely sandstone. Thickness is 500-1000 m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

It lies, possibly transgressively, on the Ladinian-Carnian volcanics of the Kattamardzhana Fm (каттамарджанайской свиты), or is thrust over the sandstones and siltstones of the Istyk Fm (истыкской свиты).

Upper contact

The suite is overlain with apparent conformity, but with a visible erosion marks of the Lower Jurassic Darbazatazh Fm (дарбазаташской Свитой).

Regional extent

It is widespread in the basins of the rivers Gurumd and Kattamardzhana.
